[Letter on a journey from England to Victoria on the sailing ship Superb, November 1886-January 1887] [manuscript] / by E. J. Fuller. 1887.

Letter to the author's parents, in the form of a diary. He describes being towed to Beachy Head and the pilot leaving them there, taking letters with him. On the ship the letters were put into a canvas bag on the door of the saloon. He describes the journey : seasickness; weather; fish and porpoises seen; a seaman lost overboard; divine services; food, with provisions and meals described; land passed; crew's sports, with detailed descriptions of each sport; land passed; the Dead horse ceremony; going down in a boat to shoot birds; games; dramatic performance starring the captain; rats; food on Christmas day; New Year's eve; seeing Cape Otway. He ends the letter saying he will send latitudes and longitudes by the next post.
